How To Make Your Shoes Last A Bit Longer

Everything nowadays is about stretching every single dollar we have into the most that we could get out of it. And when it comes to a pair of rubber shoes, it makes no difference at all.

For something that's worth a considerable amount of money, we should take good care of them. Because after all, we do not have unlimited amounts of money stashed away in our bank accounts or under our beds. We work hard for the money we earn, and it's only right that we ought to make sure that our investments do good for us, or in the case of our rubber shoes, last just as long as it is expected.

Think of them as tires, wherein it can run through a specific number of miles before it needs to be replaced because the treads are too thin already. Well our shoes are quite similar to that, and we ought to make them last just as long as it is expected so that we wouldn't be spending more money on our shoes.

1. Don't play too rough every single time.

If you're not an athlete or when there's nothing at stake in a basketball game or any other sport, don't push your shoes to the limit like people would normally do. If you don't have anything like a scholarship or even a thousand dollar bet that's riding on any game on any given day, you don't have to push yourself too hard. You might end up damaging your shoes a whole lot faster than it normally would be. To at least preserve the sole or any cushioning that it may have, do not exert too much pressure on it if you don't need to.

2. Don't make it your all around shoe.

That means if you have a pair of basketball shoes, make sure that it just stays on the court for you to use. Don't use it to go to work or to go out during weekends with friends or anything. Shoes, believe it or not, should actually get some rest after a long hard day of being under the entire weight of your body. You could also probably say that the longer you wear a pair of shoes, whether you run in it, jump, climb or work out with it, the faster it would get worn out.

3. Do not walk, run or play on any surface that could risk further damage to your shoe – not to mention yourself.

If you know that a pair of basketball shoes aren't exactly meant for rock climbing wherein you might encounter some pretty sharp edges for rocks, you should probably leave it at home in favor for another pair of shoes that's more suited for the job. The point we're getting at here is that you should not try to make your shoes do something that it's not meant to do.

Well for example, you can't expect to go on a marathon on a pair of basketball shoes or a hundred meter dash for that matter; it's not just meant for that kind of use.
